Hello Sunshine!

Hello Sunshine!

And thankfully we do have some sunshine today!

I've followed the challenge over at Casual Fridays and created this colourful sunny card.
The challenge is to -

CFC133: Create a Clean And Simple project that uses hearts in summer colors.
While we are featuring lots of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps products, you can use any products from your stash, and enter before noon on July 18th.
*the use of CFS products is not required to play or win*

My card is very straight forward.  A Whisper White base with a mat of Basic Black and another mat of Whisper White.  I punched a Circle of Daffodil Delight for the sun and then punched a load of hearts from the Brights Collection using the Owl Punch (which was still on my desk from yesterday!).  The sentiment is from Four You and stamped in the new In Colour Tangelo Twist.  Easy peasy and ready for almost any occasion.

Time now to get the washing out whilst we still have some sunshine.

Thanks for joining me.  Take care.  x

I'm also going to pop this into Addicted to CAS which has a cue word of SUN.
Also Addicted to stamps and more which is anything goes week.

All Stampin' Up!

Card - Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry

Recycled Owl

Have you had a good weekend?
I do hope so!

I've had a super day today.  Why?  Because I had loads of play time in the old craft area.

I was determined to join in with Less is More as I missed it last week and it looked such a super challenge too.  Perhaps I'll make a card for it just for fun.

Anyhoos onto today's card.  The challenge is to use a recycled item.  I also noticed that CASology has a code word of "Wood" and so my card started to take shape.

I have an Early Espresso card base and I stamped the nest from Take Care in Whisper White and also the sentiment from Just Sayin'.  I tore some corrugated cardboard and added that along the back.  I then stamped onto some brown packaging paper that we always get tons off when ordering from Stampin' Up! I stamped Hardwood in Lost Lagoon and punched out using the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  I punched the owl using of course the Owl Punch and Bermuda Bay Card Stock.    I punched out his heart feathers from an egg carton.  Lucky me it was just the right colour.  Then he is attached with some Dimensionals.

It was fun to go raking through my recycling to find things to use and I'm pleased with the end result.

Hope you have had a productive day too. x

Fabulous Florets Blended

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I have another playing about card using new products to show you.

This months card swap club had a stipulation of a cut out to the front.  I chose to make a fancy edge by cutting the Fabulous Florets flowers.

I stamped the flower in Crumb Cake then coloured them using  Stampin' Up!'s new Blendabilities - Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabanna and Rich Razzleberry.  I tried out 3 different ways to colour.  Cherry Cobbler was coloured completely light, then adding in medium and finally dark then again in light. Rich Razzleberry was coloured the opposite way.  Dark to light.  Coastal Cabanna was coloured using a flicking stroke first in dark then adding medium and finally light leaving some of the white.

This shows the card closed.  I added the leaf pattern to the inside. The card base is Crumb Cake and the sentiment is stamped in the same and is from Perfect Pennants.  It was die cut using the Banners Framelits.  For added sparkle I've attached a Basic Rhinestone to each of the flowers.

Only 6 days and counting until the new catalogue.  Can't wait!   Lots of new stamps to try out my new pens on.  Along with other goodies I'm sure you will love.

I went for a long walk today (An hour and a half!) and was lucky enough to see some deer at the Den of Maidencraig, which is a local nature reserve just on the outskirts of Aberdeen. You really have to look hard as they are so well camouflaged. I only saw them because a man, also walking his dog, pointed them out.  Sadly he said that the whole area is ear marked for houses.  Where will the deer go? :(

Take care until next time.  x

Love ya

Hi Folks!

Hope you have a fun Sunday planned.  We are off to the beach later.  Not to swim but to walk the dog.  Hoping it stays dry and isn't too windy.  We are in Aberdeen after all, beside the North Sea.

Whilst having my alone crafty time yesterday, I made another card.  For this one I followed the sketch at CASe This Sketch
You can see it below.

I just had to try out another new product from the new catalogue.  Point & Click one of the new photopolymer stamp sets from Project Life.  That's not all that's new.  I've used the new In Colours for my stamping.

I added a sentiment from Just Sayin to my speech bubble. I also scattered a few of the smallest Basic Rhinestones for some added sparkle.

So that's it from me.  Hopefully we will see some sun on our walk.

Take care.  x

I'm also going to add this into CASology which has a cue card of Anniversary.

Poppies Sending Many Thanks

Happy Saturday to you!

I got some play time today and made my card for this week's Less is More challenge which is a one layer, off the edge.

I used Naturals White cardstock and stamped Pleasant Poppies off the side and bottom edges in Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

To colour the poppies I used a brand new product from the new catalogue - Stampin' Blendabilities.  Let me take a moment to describe this fantastic new addition to the Stampin' Up! catalogue.  Blendabilies are brand new markers.  They are alcohol based and are fantastic for colouring.  They are available in 12 core colours plus a skin tone assortment.  The pens come in a pack of 3 of each of the colours (except for the skin tone which has six). A light, medium and dark.  As the name suggest these pens are made to blend!  I'll have more to show you on these another time.

In the meantime back to my card.  I coloured the poppies starting with the dark Cherry Cobbler.  I picked up the areas on the flowers that I thought would be darkest, then added the medium colouring a little further and lastly went over it all with the light.  Finally I went back into the poppies picking up the dark.

I don't have the yellows (as yet) so I dotted the middles with my Stampin' Write Marker So Saffron.

I'm loving these new pens and I hope you do too.  xx

Stampin' Up! has Something to Say

Hi Crafty Peeps.  I've had fun playing with some of my brand new goodies.  Yep the man in the brown van delivered to my door my 2014-2015 pre order.

This is a super set from the new catalogue called Something to Say and has 17 stamps.  The flowers and heart have matching punches - Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  Superb, love it when you can stamp and punch!  I cut out the sentiment using the Deco Labels Framelits.  I popped up the sentiment panel and one of the flowers.  I corner rounded the edges with the new Project Life Corner Punch. To add a little bling I've put a tiny Basic Rhinestone onto four flowers.

I've chosen my colours to fit in with this week's challenge over at less is more.  We have to use the colours of our bedroom.  I'm really pleased that we recently re decorated our room into my favourite colours purple.  So I've used Wisteria Wonder and one of the new In Colours - Blackberry Bliss.  Yummy scrummy.  I've used a Wisteria Wonder card base.

Did I tell you that Weekly Deals are here to stay?  Always worth a look!

I hope you've enjoyed your sneak peak.  I can't wait until July when we can start ordering properly from the catalogue.  I could just drool over it for days!

Edit:  I'd like to enter this into the current challenge at CASology which has a cue word - Anniversary.  Thanks Gay for pointing it out. x

Fabulous Florets at Less is More

Hi Crafty Peeps!

My card today is showing some of the products that are retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalogue.  You can see everything that's retiring below but don't be slow as some products have already sold out.

I've used the In Colours that we are losing - Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple.

The stamp set is the lovely Fabulous Florets which is also retiring.  The main flower head is popped up on dimensionals.
I corner rounded the edges.  Then used the paper piercing Essentials template to add decoration to the top.

These will not be leaving my shelf anytime soon.  Perhaps I'll just have to put up a new shelf for my new goodies!!

Here's the full lists.

As Less is More this week are looking for you to use more than one stamp I'm going to enter this card.

A big welcome to Allie my new follower.  Thanks for joining me in this corner of blogland.

We have had a lovely weekend, lots of sunshine.  Got some gardening done, crafting, catching up with friends and even a mini bbq.

Hope you've had fun too. x
